Creator research data
To run influencer campaigns for our clients, we collect and review information that creators have made public on social media platforms: their username, follower count, engagement levels, the category of content they publish, the language and apparent location of their audience, and notes about recent posts. We use this to judge whether a creator is a good fit for a particular campaign.
We collect only what a campaign decision requires, and only from public profiles. We do not access private accounts, and we do not attempt to obtain contact details that a creator has not published or given to us.
For this research AICO is the data controller, and our lawful basis is legitimate interest: assessing publicly presented professional profiles in order to approach creators about paid or gifted collaborations, which is the ordinary purpose for which such profiles are published.
A creator may ask us at any time to remove their information or to stop contacting them, by writing to the address at the end of this policy. When they do, we delete their record and keep only the minimum needed to make sure we do not contact them again.
Data we process on behalf of clients
Where a client engages us to assist with influencer outreach, we access messages sent to that client's own social media account, with the client's explicit authorisation, using the platform's official business interfaces.
We read these messages solely to identify replies to the client's own outreach, organise them, and prepare draft responses for a person at the client to review and send. We do not send messages, follow, like, or take any other action on the account, and we request no permission to do so.
Message content is retained only for the duration of the campaign and any agreed period afterwards, is never shared between our clients, and is never used to train models. The client may revoke our access at any time through their own account settings.
For this processing the client is the data controller and AICO acts as processor under a data processing agreement.
Your rights
Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:
- Request access to your data.
- Request correction or deletion of your information.
- Withdraw consent at any time.
